BenCab Museum voted one of Asia’s best museums




BenCab Museum
The BenCab Museum in Baguio City has been chosen by Asian travellers as one of the Top 25 Museums on TripAdvisor. In the global traveller website the museum has been described as a “Great Museum, Awesome View, Good Food.”

The museum named after Filipino National Artists Benedicto Cabrera is located at Km. 6 Asin Road, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet. It opened in 2009.

The BenCab Museum is the only Filipino museum in the Top 25 Asia list which includes respected regional museums from China, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Armenia, Japan and Malaysia.

The Bencab Museum is committed to the promotion of the arts, and the preservation, conservation and protection of the environment, as well as the culture and traditions of theCordilleras, as an expression of the artist’s gratitude to the country that nurtured and inspired an artistic career that continues to grow, mature and fascinate.

The multi-story complex is composed of several galleries that house the permanent collection of BenCab, his paintings, his collections of indigenous Cordillera art and the works of Filipino masters and contemporary artists.

The different areas of the museum are the BenCab Gallery, Cordillera Gallery, Erotica Gallery, Sepia Gallery, Philippine Contemporary Art Gallery 1, Philippine Contemporary Art Gallery 2, Maestro Gallery, Print Gallery, Patio Salvador and Larawan Hall.

This is also where BenCab lives and where his actual workshop is located. Exhibits of exciting contemporary artists in Manila are also being held at the museum throughout the year.


Location: The BenCab Museum is on Asin Road, in an area known as Km. 6, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet, which simply means its six kilometers from the center of Baguio City. It would be advisable to get there by car or taxi cab since jeepneys getting out of there may be scarce.

By private transport: To get there from Burnham Park, pass through Harrison Road, and at the stop light at the intersection cross over to and climb Abanao Road. Upon reaching the top of Abanao, there is another stop light. Stay on the left lane as one will go straight (turning right will lead you to Bokawkan Road),to get to Naguilian Road.

When on Naguilian Road, watch for CooYeeSan Mall on your left because you will make a left turn on the road right before the mall. Keep heading straight downhill till you get to Asin Road and watch for markers that indicate Km 6. BenCab Museum will be to your left and travel time will take about 15 minutes given light traffic.
By public transport: Jeepneys to Asin Road wait for passengers near the Baguio City Market. It is advisable to contact a taxi cab to take you there and wait for you instead,since getting out of the area by jeepney may be a long wait.
Business Hours: Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. except Mondays, Christmas day & New Year’s day.

Entrance Fees: An entrance fee of Php100 per person, about US$2.50, is currently charged to enter the premises, with discounts for senior citizens and students.
