MER plans to increase the number of participants under the
interruptible load program (ILP), a measure which could help mitigate the power
shortage next year. The company is currently in active discussions with several
companies which could contribute a combined capacity of 71 MW. Aside from
private companies, MER has also identified several government establishments
which could cumulatively generate an additional 79 MW.
