Paulo Avelino and KC Concepcion: Just friends

In a recent interview on “Kris TV,” KC shared that she isn’t dating anyone and just considers Paulo one of her best friends.

Does Paulo think he’s been ‘friendzoned’?

“Hindi naman. We are friends naman talaga ever since,” Paulo said at the thanksgiving party of ABS-CBN’s teleserye “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon” on Thursday, October 2.

Best friends
Instead of focusing on a romantic relationship, the  Kapamilya stars would like to work on their individual careers first.

“We are best friends at nag-uusap naman kami ever since. Hindi nawala iyon. Wala namang nagbago, we are friends. Pareho naman kaming nagta-trabaho ngayon, pareho kaming nagko-concentrate sa trabaho namin, so iyon muna,” Paolo said.
He agrees with KC when she said in the interview that she wants to be sure of herself when she commits to someone because she doesn’t want to get hurt.
“Committing is different. Now, ang dami ding kailangang pagtuunan ng pansin. We’re both busy, hindi mo naman malalaman yung makakatuluyan mo until you spend time with her.”

 Drunk in a club?
The Kapamilya actor defended KC from netizens who said she looked drunk in her photo with Paulo in a club.

“Grabe naman maka-react. It’s not lasing. We were having drinks with friends, hindi naman lasing iyon. Kinunan lang ng photo for the promotion of the bar.”
Many people expected Paulo to reveal more than his shirtless body in the recent Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash.  But he did not.

Being sexy
“Sexiness is not just about stripping off or going out naked. Sometimes, nasa aura din na nilalabas mo, na binibigay mo,” he said.

Paulo added, “Ita-timing din sa theme (of the show), na CEO. Hindi naman sa hindi comfortable, pero more on sa theme din eh.”
Instead of revealing his body in fashion shows, Paulo would like to make people pay more attention to his acting.

“Pass muna sa underwear. Nagawa ko na din eh. Three years ako sa Bench na ganoon. Ngayon gusto ko munang lumabas doon and concentrate on my craft, sa acting.”

Mixed feelings
He has mixed feelings on the approaching finale of “Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon,” where he plays achocolatier who gets involved with two women.
“As much as possible, focus lang sa character. Minsan nadadala ka na din dahil sa tulong ng mga directors mo, mga co-actors,” he said.
What did he learn from his role?

“Minsan, may nadadanasan ka na parang nawawala ka na ng gana sa buhay, pero huwag kang mawalan ng pag-asa dahil may dumarating talaga na liwanag at hindi pa tapos ang lahat."

"Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon” ends on Friday, October 10.
